The H10 Gran Tinerfe Hotel in Costa Adeje on the island of Tenerife has now completed its extensive remodelling work.

For the past 2 months renovations have been taking place at the H10 Gran Tinerfe and have resulted in the 2 swimming pools being re-done - although not losing the original structures which were designed by Cesar Manrique. There is a brand new "chill out terrace" which has been designed for guests to be able to completely relax and have views of the beach and the sea beyond.

The reception area has been remodelled, as has the restaurant with completely new furniture. The main restaurant is in a minimalist style with a new outside terrace where guests can enjoy breakfast or dinner with views of the Atlantic. Vincci la Plantacion Hotel "Remembers Flavours"

Vincci la Plantacion Hotel in Costa Adeje, Tenerife, together with the Adeje council, arranged a gastronomic event "Remembered Flavours" at their hotel - the 2nd to be held following the success of last year's event.

The idea behind it is to get young chefs together with some senior citizens in order that the chefs can learn about the traditional recipes in order to bring back Canarian cooking traditions. The event centred around a competition whereby the young chefs had to use ingredients from Tenerife and prizes were awarded in various categories with the winners awarded a weekend at the Vincci la Plantacion Hotel - a 5 star luxury exclusive hotel with views over the Atlantic and over to the island of La Gomera, and only 500m from El Duque beach.

Hotel Botanico - Tenerife luxury Hotel for the famous

Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden - or more widely known as just Hotel Botanico - is located in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. Puerto de la Cruz is the largest of the resorts in the north of the island and is the oldest. A former fishing village is was unexpectedly promoted to principal port when a volcanic eruption destroyed the town of Garachico in 1706.

Hotel Botanico is a 5 star luxury, prestigious hotel located in the quiet district of La Paz close to the botanical gardens. The centre of Puerto de la Cruz is, however, only 1.5km from the hotel.

Owned by the same family who owns the Loro Parque, it recently played host to the King Juan Carlos of Spain and his wife, Sofia, when they come to officially open the new giant telescope on the nearby island of La Palma.

Costa del Silencio - New Look Completed

Costa del Silencio - one of Tenerife's oldest resorts - has recently seen major improvements completed. The resort has recently received a 2million euros facelift which involved roads being resurfaced, new pavements and a general "spruce up" of the area. It was reported that there has been a knock-on effect with local business and resort holiday complexes carrying out improvements over recent months.

Giant Wheel for Las Palmas

Las Palmas in Gran Canaria is hoping to install a giant wheel in its centre - similar to the London Eye, which will hopefully attract more visitors to the capital. It transpires that Gran Canaria's tourist board has been in discussions with the city council and is looking for a suitable site in Las Palmas.

However, there is opposition to the idea and although several sites have been proposed, none of them currently fulfil the accessibility and safety requirements. It is feared that if the wheel is placed too close to the city's main roads driver will automatically stop/slow down to look up at it which could lead to accidents.

The favourite location for the wheel is the plaza at the Santa Catalina bus station.

Ryanair - New Routes from Edinburgh

Ryanair have announced that they will be introducing 8 new routes from Edinburgh to their winter schedule. Although Ryannair are cutting flights from Manchester and Stansted they will be offering additional services to Barcelona, Brussels, Gdansk, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Memmingen, Oslo and Tenerife starting 30 October 2009.

Flights from Manchester - Additional Routes for 2010

Jet2.com has announced that it will be launching 3 new routes out of Manchester for summer 2010 which will also create an additional 250 jobs. The additional routes will be to Gran Canaria, Kos and Venice.

They will also be increasing their number of services to Lanzarote, Dalaman, Sharm-el-Sheikh and Tel Aviv.

As a result of this expansion, Jet2.com will have an additional 737 aircraft based at Manchester airport taking their total to 7 with 100,000 extra seats created for summer 2010.
