Go Golfing on your Tenerife Holiday

Although Tenerife is only around 2057 square kilometers, the island boast some magnificent golf courses located in both the north and south.

Here are just some of the courses available to you whilst on your holiday in Tenerife:


Buenavista Golf
Number of Holes : 18 or 9
Designed by Seve Ballesteros is within close proximity to the coast and is located on cliffs.  There is a large central lake in front of the Club House which offers panoramic views of the course, and a waterfall which lends a fresh feel to this course in the north of Tenerife. The majority of the holes can be played in different ways with rounds that are suitable for players of all levels.

Abama
Number of Holes : 18
Created by Dave Thomas, this golf course exudes luxury and elegance.  Set in an amazing garden featuring lakes and waterfalls, this certainly is a unique golf course with 22 lakes and over 90,000 palm trees.  The course faces the sea and is located in the quiet resort of Guia de Isora in the west of Tenerife.

Real Club de Golf
Number of Holes : 18
This is the second oldest golf club in Spain [founded in 1932]. Situation some 600m above sea level it has undulating fairways with spectacular views of Mount Teide. Several holes incorporate dry stream beds and the course is full of old trees providing welcome shade. 


Golf del Sur
Number of Holes : 27
Designed by Pepe Gancedo and opened in 1987, Golf del Sur was later modified by Manuel Pinero with the enhancement of all the natural surrounding areas.  This course has been the setting for two world records in long drive, both set by the British golfer Karl Woodward.  

Amarilla Golf
Number of Holes : 18

Designed by Donald Steel, Amarilla Golf overlooks the sea and incorporate this as an unusual obstacle on some holes.  With fantastic views of Mount Teide, the course is enhanced with palm trees and Canary pine trees and is surrounded by unique countryside. Suitable for players of all levels.

Centro de Golf Los Palos
Number of Holes : 9
Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal's company, Centro de Golf is virtually built on one level and features water obstacles, lakes and streams. The course has a lovely terrace overlooking the entire golf course which is suitable for beginners and for anyone wishes to improve their game.  


Golf Las Americas
Number of Holes : 18

Designed by John Jacobs, Golf Las Americas is located in the popular and lively resort of Playa de Las Americas in the south of Tenerife.  The course faces the sea which results in superb ocean views and over to the neighbouring island of La Gomera. A set of lakes, water channels and gullies are present over the course and the balconies of the club house provide views over Golf Las Americas.

Golf Costa Adeje
Number of Holes : 27
Designed by Pepe Gancedo, the course has lovely views of the sea and the island of La Gomera as well as the Adeje mountains.  The course itself features wide greens and obstacles such as gorges and lakes. The Club House has large terraces and a central courtyard.  Surrounded by banana plantations, the rugged terrain and natural contours make this a challenging course.
